Armenia

Some of the most striking columns that I have ever seen. Garni gorge is a unique spot in a historic land. With lots of potential for first ascents.

This pitch had been aided and had a single bolt on top, it was a sweet 5.10 column for nearly 35 meters.

Armenians are know for there generosity and these folks invited us to share their Barbecue.

Rainy weather gave us time to explore Republic square in Yerevan the capital of Armenia.

Mhkitar had a group of friends assemble, for a trip to check out a limestone canyon about two hours from Yerevan.

Noravanq Monestary is at the top of the canyon and a major historical landmark. There are ruins here from the 9th century.

There are 3 climbs to the top of the pillar.
They are bolted and have rap rings on top.

There is lots of potential for 2 and 3 pitch moderate routes here .With sun or shade options on the canyon walls.
